Chepi flew from branch to branch, stringing stardust and moonlight to light up her tiny faerie village. Fae and humans agreed on very little, and less now than ever.
Of course, Fae did not decorate as humans did, with gaudy baubles and electricity. Nature was Chepi’s canvas, and she painted it with magic, creating a masterpiece of beauty.
She put the final touches on the last bough, then floated down to the ground. As the forest animals and Fae gathered to honor the Christ child, she wished for nothing more than peace on Earth to reign over all its creatures.
I knew I wanted to write a Fae Christmas story, and so created an image to inspire one. Whether or not one believes in the literal truth of the Christ story, I think it symbolizes something profound. It is a truth found in all religions I have encountered, though not all proponents of those religions actually adhere to that truth.
I removed this story from the human realm because I wanted to step outside of our distortions and focus on the concept of peace. May we all find this. May we someday find true peace on Earth.
For anyone interested, Chepi is an Algonquin name meaning Fairy. I found it on Mamanatural.com.
Very nice. ❤️
