Leanne knew why Adam placed the salt in the middle of the table and chose where everyone sat at their gatherings.
Below the salt. That’s where he placed anyone he considered somehow inferior to himself. Which, honestly, included almost everyone.
Today Leanne had had enough. She had invited the mail-boy from the office to dinner without telling Adam. As her husband glared and others watched, jaws dropped, she led Hank to her own seat. For extra effect, she spilled the salt cellar over the table on her way by.
She’d tell Adam she was leaving after she enjoyed tonight’s dinner.
In Medieval times, the salt was customarily placed in the middle of the table. Those considered common, or less favored, were seated below the salt. This custom was the inspiration for today’s drabble.

Rumor had it that Leanne was a little salty. Now we know. 😉
Very interesting, I never knew that!
