“How can you eat that stuff?” Mary asked, digging her spoon into a large bowl of ice cream.
“This?” Sally took a spoonful of cottage cheese and blueberries. She chewed slowly, savoring every bite.
“Dad and I used to eat this every Sunday morning. This is comfort food.”
The Friday Fix Fiction has moved to an online, monthly publication. Alas, I won’t be sending you any more Friday Fix stories. I’ve enjoyed bringing you an extra story a week, though, so I’ll continue doing so.

I actually love cottage cheese, though I never ate it with my father! This story was inspired by the words ice cream, cottage cheese, and comfort. I’m always happy to take prompts from readers. Just give me two concrete and one abstract noun and I’ll find a story that incorporates them all!
