It was the trip of a lifetime, yet Rhys Wilson wasn’t enjoying it. He was lonely. He met lots of people on his solo Mekong river cruise. He enjoyed their company too. But he wasn’t meant to be here alone. He was supposed to be on his honeymoon.
He and Tina hadn’t even made it to the altar. He had surprised her with the tickets after promising to book them a honeymoon she would never forget.
Always a little on the arrogant side, he had decided that Tina would want to go on a cruise with him because it was what he had always wanted to do. She had specifically said no boats because of her sensitive stomach.
Rhys had ignored her concerns, figuring she would handle it somehow. She handled it by dumping him two days before the wedding and flying to Hawaii with her best friend. Not for the first time, he wondered if it was too late to join them.
I built this story using the randomly generated first line, “It was the trip of a lifetime, yet;” the name Rhys Wilson; and the words lonely, arrogant, and sensitive. Oh, and the title? Rhys was cruising for a bruising before the ship ever left port!
Serves him right! 😉
