Day One
Carol and Anne sat side by side on the hammock, looking out onto the lake. A new day. A new year.
“I’m sorry I didn’t speak sooner,” Anne said.
“I didn’t either,” Carol answered. “Let’s not regret lost time.”
“Agreed. Let’s go make breakfast, and kickoff our new life together.”
