Bob immediately pivoted to glare at Lana as the sound of shattering dishes turned the heads of every diner in the opposite direction. His look promised a tongue lashing after the restaurant closed. Until his gaze belatedly caught up with what everyone else had already seen. His new wife stood over the mess in front of table sixteen.
Lana supposed she shouldn’t blame Bob for thinking of her first, as the tray she had dropped last week had crashed spectacularly, scattering broken dishes and ruined food across an entire restaurant section. But she’d had enough of his mouth tonight.
“It was once,” she snapped before grabbing a broom and heading toward Sally and the regulars who were trying to reassure her that they weren’t angry with her.
Sally stood over the mess with tears shining in her eyes. Visibly trying to pull herself together, she said, “I’m sorry, Lana. Here. Give me the broom.”
Lana held onto it. “Go ask the kitchen to remake your order. I’ll get this.”
“But Bob…”
“Won’t yell at you. You’re his wife. I’m his sister. He doesn’t have to sleep with me.”
This one is short and sweet, at least for Sally. Sounds like Bob isn’t such a great brother.
Cute!! Family dynamics 🥰
