If this was being lost, Marley hoped she was never found. For the first time in her life, she felt free. She knew what she wanted.
At first, her parents had expressed concern, which had quickly morphed into dismay and then anger as their “perfect” daughter had stuck to her guns.
“If you do this, you’ll never find your way back,” her mother had said in a last-ditch effort to dissuade her from taking a year off to backpack across Europe and Asia with friends.
Six months into her adventure, Marley remained determined to get a university education. However, her goals had changed. Instead of studying law, like her parents before her, she planned to major in ecology. After seeing more of the beautiful world on which she lived, she made a promise to herself that she would dedicate her life to fighting the climate change that threatened the lives of all its species.

Travel is a great education.
I liked that one! That’s what it’s going to take, more likeminded people like your character.
How about the prompts: grief, healing, and recovery ❤️🩹
