For Her Memoir
The best gossip said Miriam had fought off the burglar with a pipe wrench. Snuck up and bashed him over the head, they said, as he grabbed her heirloom diamond necklace.
Miriam smiled to herself as she listened to the whispers and saw the self-satisfied smiles of the townsfolk whenever she walked through the downtown hub. The truth, which would not appear in her memoir, was far more mundane.
Miriam had been fast asleep when the thief tripped over her cat, bashing his head on the marble foot of her fireplace.
I built this drabble around the words pipe, necklace, and fireplace.
