“I can’t believe Jaden ghosted me.” Lena belted back her third scotch, signaling the bartender for another.
Anita shook her head. Not this again. Every single time they went drinking.
“For the last time,” Anita said, enunciating every word, “you do know he died and he’s a real ghost, right?”
I wrote this story in response to a 50-word story prompt that appeared in Along the Hudson, Justin Deming’s publication. It’s great to be writing for his prompts again. His old Medium publication was where I published my first.
This story was to include the word ghost. The prompt appeared at the bottom of one of Justin’s own stories, “The Shimmer.”
