“Leave or stay?” Kathy’s voice held an edge of desperation. “What’s best for the kids?”

“It’s your decision, Sis,” Davey replied. “But this is your fork in the road. Whatever you decide, you’ve got to eat it whole. If you don’t, it’ll give you indigestion the rest of your life.”
