Oscar's Optimism
Oscar stalked his quarry as it flitted and floated, just out of reach. This time he would catch it.
He pounced as it skittered across the floor. The red dot escaped again, then disappeared as the human pocketed a silver shiny.
Next time Oscar’s prey would not be so lucky.
Like Oscar, we all have that one elusive thing in our lives — that something we continue to strive for. Hope is what keeps us from giving up. It’s our superpower. Maybe one day Oscar will catch that spot of light. Whether he does or not, his undying hope sustains him.
