I remember when we cuddled on a sleigh, listening to the jingle of its bells.
When we mingled with friends under New Year’s stars.
Separated by more than miles, we’ll make the best of this Christmas season.
As we do, my single wish is next year to be with you.
Thanks to Kim Smyth for the prompt: jingle, mingle, single. I almost went really dark with this one, then decided we have more than enough darkness right now. I remembered a couple I know of who married in England. The wife then returned to the United States to wait for her immigration paperwork to go through—just before COVID struck. She is now not permitted to enter England until who knows when. This story is for them, as much as for Kim, and for the rest of my readers. Here’s to next year, when, hopefully, we’ll be able to spend it with loved ones!
Thank you for using my prompts! You did a fabulous job with it! Merry Christmas, I hope you get to be with the ones you love this year!
