I’m writing this without having heard from readers whether or not they want to see more of these. I’m really hoping the consensus was yes!
I got so caught up in rereading the first of these that my mind glitched and I didn’t remember if it had originally been a paid post. I’m sure it must have been, because it was among a group of posts I set up all at once to unlock (though I still had to do so one at a time). If you’ve already read it, my apologies. But I do think “Camera Shy” is a great story and worth a second look.
“Black Persian” is very special to me. It’s the tale of how my mother’s cat, Augustyn, came to be her friend for the last year of her life.
Although I don’t touch on it in the story, Mom had been a little depressed prior to getting Augustyn. I also didn’t mention that Mom died a year after getting him.
I love so much that he was there to brighten her world for a while. He moved on to a wonderful home afterward and we used to hear about him from time to time. He remained a pampered and spoiled cat!
“As Simple as That” is a story about connection. We walk past others all the time, oblivious to their worlds and to their possible need for someone to reach out to them. This is a joyous tale of someone who, lonely and alone in a new country, finds more friendships than she could have imagined.
Please feel free to comment on any of these stories either here or on the stories themselves. I’m enjoying revisiting them. I hope you like them too!
