“Hell is listening to you torture that piano day in and day out.”
“No,” Connal answered, “Hell is listening to that infernal pencil scratching you constantly subject me to.”
Suddenly aware he desperately needed a break from composing, Connal hoped it wasn’t too late to meet his friends for dinner.
All creatives need to take breaks from our work to refill the well. Sometimes we don’t listen and the consequences aren’t pretty, as Connal found out to his dismay. This dribble was brought to you by the words hell, piano, and pencil.
Breaks are essential for me. I have learned that I need to be in a good state of mind to be creative. "Pushing through" doesn't work for me. I put out (worse) garbage when I force it. 🙂
