Mac watched the river make its way through the city on its journey to the ocean. He let his mind travel with it, delivering him to another time and place.
His years aboard the freighter had been an adventurous, wonderful chapter in his life. He had met and married Elsa and brought her home. Though he missed the sea, he didn’t regret quitting for a land job when their firstborn had come along.
Smiling at the memories, Mac tipped his hat to the river and headed home. Their kids had lives of their own now, but Elsa would be waiting.
This lovely little story came to me unbidden. (Another BMAC story)
I love water, streams flowing to rivers flowing to the ocean. All connected, all one. No walls in the midst of the ocean keeping drops apart. The flow of life.
Sweet. Life passes very quickly.
