“You can rationalize any behavior to make it right, but that don’t make it right.”
“But…”
“Don’t interrupt me, young man.” Randy’s grandmother wagged a finger at him.
Randy stifled the sigh that would buy him another lecture.
“There’s absolutes in the world, Boy, and one of them is that stealing is wrong.”
“I know, Gran.” The agreement would hopefully shorten the tongue lashing.
It didn’t. Randy listened to Gran carry on for a full twenty minutes before being allowed to exit the kitchen.
As he left, he couldn’t resist muttering, “It’s a baseball game, you’re supposed to steal bases.”
I thought I’d go with something light for today’s story. I haven’t watched baseball in a long time, but I do love the game, which inspired this drabble.
Cute story. Understanding is all about context, isn't it 😊
