Darkness
In the darkness, I see her, even with my eyes closed. Especially with my eyes closed.
Time cannot erase the face of my first, truest friend. Azadi, I named her, to represent the freedom I craved.
When painful past intersects present, her furry warmth eases me from darkness to light.

I did have a cat named Azadi. He was a beautiful cream Persian. though he did not help me through past trauma, he was a joy in my life.
