Great prompt Laura. Great story Dascha. I enjoyed the waiting, anticipation, wondering, and then the excitment of what's the next adventure.

Loved the story and the prompt!

Characters do become real for me. I can’t tell you how many times after finishing a book I become sad, almost, to know their journey has come to a close. When an author does it right, I can become so immersed in the story that I almost feel I become a part of it. On occasion I do come back to stories and read them for this reason - typically only a section or chapter, not an entire re-read.

Yes! And I can't count the number of times I've rushed through a series because I'm so invested, all the while knowing I'm hurtling toward the end, after which I will feel that sense of loss when there's no more to read!
