Marley’s family hadn’t believed she’d ever see this day. Shot in the line of duty, she had slowly learned to walk again, then to run, Daryl cheering her on, never letting her quit.
Marley’s smile lit the church as she and Daryl danced down the aisle to say I do.
I’ve always loved Lee Ann Womack’s I Hope You Dance. I think it’s the perfect song for a story about a new life. You can listen to it here:
Lllooovvveeelllyyy. I am a sucker for a happy ending. Lol
I love the song, too. I hope we all keep dancing. In the 70s, a local band called Chilliwack, sang "let's dance to the sound of our feet upon the ground". That created a vision for me of a child dancing solely to express the joy they felt in their hearts. And once every so often I still get out there and just dance. I hope we never as adults lose that unfettered expression of joy, even in the midst of challenging moments. Our heart dancing to the singing of a bird in the dark of December. 🎼🐦
