Time was not on Jerry’s side. No matter what he did, Kelly ended up with Ed. Every damned time. Frankly, Jerry was tired. It was time to throw in the towel. Jerry couldn’t change the past. He sold his time machine to the world historical society and found another project.
I'd be afraid to change the past and the continuum that has evolved from those decisions and actions. I'm sure you can't ever just change one thing 😉
