Your journey has been amazing! I also love the idea in this song but my journey has been one of simple adventures although just as exciting for me. I've not travelled extensively, not been away from North America, and I live less than 50km from where I grew up. Never lived out of the Fraser Valley. Simple life but it's led me to sleeping under the stars at 8000ft up a mountain and has taken me on a walk to the summit of Mt Baker. I've river rafted, explored caves, rock climbed, and on and on. I've driven across Canada many times, whenever possible off the main highway taking time to meet people in the small communities that make us such a great country. Just embracing those moments that have made wonderful memories. And those roadblocks that I've encountered? Well, then, I'm just older and still runnin' against the wind 😉
Your journey seems like high adventure to me! I think we largely normalize our own lives. The things we've done and experiences we've had are just our lives. And I love Bob Seger too! ☺🙏
I hope to do more traveling, as health and finances permit... as well as pandemics. But even if I don't get to physically travel as much as I would like, there is so much other "travel" I can engage in! ☺🙏
Thank you for all your kind words, Srinath! Heroes is a great song for this theme as well. I love Bowie and had the good fortune to see him perform live a few years before he died.
I hope you do get to physically travel at some point in your life, but, even if you don't, books can transport you in a way that physical travel can't!
I always find it tough when people ask me about my favourite fiction books because there are so many. I lean very heavily toward science fiction and fantasy. I love the old masters, my favourites among those being Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, Asimov's Foundation series, Anne McCaffery's Dragon rzrders of Pern series and Katherine Kurtz's Deryni books. My user name in most venues is derynilass, in homage to those books. I could name so many more, but I want to suggest some more modern authors as well.
Oops. I hit post by mistake. Here's the rest of my reply.
I really love Leigh Bardugo's Grishaverse books, Laini Taylor's God's and Monsters trilogy, Ann Leckie's Ancillary Justice trilogy, Anne Bishop's The Others series as well as her Black Jewels series.
My Canadian favourites (being a Canadian) include literally everything by Julie Czerneda, most of Robert J Sawyer's books, and Triptych, by J.M. Frey.
Again, there are just too many books and authors I enjoy to name. These are ones that came quickly to mind.
I very much enjoyed both The Fair in Our Stars and The Perks of Being a Wallflower! I'm fond of Shakespeare, as well. Have you read The Joy Luck Club, by Amy Tan?
Hamlet and the Scottish Play. (I don't know if you're familiar with the actors' superstition that saying Macbeth in a theatre is bad luck. They call it the Scottish Play instead.). If we're stepping outside of Shakespeare, I do love The Importance of Being Earnest. My son did that with his theatre company, many years ago. Michael played Algernon, and went on to a packed house while deathly ill. I love Glengarry Glenross, Rent is an all time fave, Wicked, Les Miserable, Death of a Salesman, Mourning Becomes Electra. Again, too many to name.

I do. I wish I could travel more, and I always want to go, go, go. I hate sitting too much and I hope when my husband retires, we can travel more!

I love this road, potholes and all. LIFE is a grand adventure.
Clearly, we agree! ☺🙏
