Dad would have called this a perfect sky. Bailey felt as though he stood on the edge of the world. As if at any moment he could tumble off its edge into the starry vista that held him entranced. Every year Bailey and Dad made the trip to Maryland Earth to Sky Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains and spent a week there hoping for a perfect sky.
I've felt the same at times when I was deep into the Appalachian Mountains with no artificial lights for miles away. The stars are so bright in those dark places that I felt I could reach out and touch them. A frightening but also beautiful experience.
Most of us don't pay a lot of attention to the sky until we have a reason to. But it's beautiful and pack with mysteries we can't imagine. Lol. I wonder about it sometimes. I think too much. Lol. How are you doing?
What a beautiful story. I love the ending and will now think of stardust every time I think of my father. Thank you 💕

Me too. I am not bad.
What a wonderful tribute to Dad and Sky. I miss the skies of the Rocky Mountains!
What a beautiful story! I was lucky enough the other night to see two shooting stars.
