Since I read this I've thought about words and censorship and hate speech and who makes the rules. I've talked with others and read about controversy. I suppose it's like banning books. There are words spoken with the intent to do harm. There are words spoken with the intent to enrage, to hurt, to ridicule, to show disrespect but who decides where the line in the sand is. In Fahrenheit 451, they made it simple by banning all books so no one was offended, a mockery of the decisions to think about others. I agree we must defend the right to freedom of speech, and thought, I just hope one day that freedom will no longer be used to attack. Although it does seem the days are gone when healthy disagreement can bring a friend closer rather than drive then away.πŸ•ŠπŸ™πŸŒˆπŸ’•πŸ¦‹

We're in an age of extremism. The truth is that there are well-documented historical cycles. Moderation will come again, though I don't know if you and I will be here to see it, my friend.
