I like this story. Poignant and timely. I find it fascinating that dinosaurs roamed the earth for around 165 million years and we, with our greater intelligence, have only been around for about 230,000 and we're making it uninhabitable for our species. I do believe the earth will survive. It is an amazing organism and has regeneration down pat. You only need to read up on Chernobyl. Because it is still too radioactive for humans, it has become a wildlife refuge. Some mutations but they're surviving and thriving. The sand god will hopefully see more wisdom the next time around, though 😁
Hopefully he will! You're so right that our "intelligence" seems to be our downfall. Perhaps we have just enough of it, without the necessary maturity and wisdom for restraint, to allow our species's selfishness to bring about our own demise.

This is one of my favorite stories of yours!
Thank you! I really like it too.
Really loved this, read it a few times. Very impactful.
Thank you so much, Chippy. ❤️
I love everything about this story, Dascha. It reminds me of “Ozymandias” by Percy B. Shelley.
I don't know that story. Thanks, Justin. 😊
I love his pensive and somewhat skeptical look. May we find and honor him 🙏
Thank you, Connie. And yes, may we do this before it's too late!
