I’m so sorry for your loss, but it’s true that sometimes a new pet can “fill the hole” that heartache has left. That’s how I feel about my dog Whiskey. Dave got her for me a while after my mom died, which was very hard on me.
I'm so glad Whiskey has been there to help heal your heart. The unconditional love our pets provide is a balm we can't find anywhere else. My Keiko was the most loving cat you could imagine. She's been gone probably 15 years now, and I can still feel the joy of her wrapped around my head on my pillow as we slept at night as I write this.
