The law school stacks were George’s favorite place. He would spend hours every day studying case law. When security caught him midway through second semester, they escorted him off campus, ordering him not to return. Refusing to be daunted, he snuck back in, wishing he could afford to pay tuition.
Just as primary and secondary school became free in the 19th and 20th centuries, so university should become free in the 21st century. Society must ensure that those who are capable of great things are given the opportunity to accomplish them.
